Community dialogues led by a PHC workers serves as an opportunity for a facilitated conversation where members of a community come together and discuss the causes of their health and nutrition issues, arrive at resolutions, plan for and implement actions to improve their health and nutrition status. Through such a process, members of a community are enabled to think through their behavior and values, identifying how these affect them and other community members and then collectively identify changes that they need to introduce into their value system. A well facilitated community dialogue creates space for mutual learning, reflection, planning and action. Conclusions from community dialogues can then be incorporated into PHC microplanning (See ‘How to Plan for PHC services’).
